IBADAN NORTH BYE-ELECTION: ADEROGBA TAOFIK CONGRATULATES ADEWALE OLATUNJI “MURPHY” ON HIS EMERGENCE AS APC FLAG BEARER*

In a show of sportsmanship, one that is uncommon in the history of Nigerian political contests, one of the leading aspirants in Ibadan North bye-election Federal constituency - Hon Aderogba Adebayo Taofik, mni has send his goodwill wish message to Hon Adewale Haasatrup Olatunji popularly know as ‘Murphy’ on his emergence as the candidate of our great party – APC in the forthcoming bye election in Ibadan North. 

Hon Murphy is an household name in Oyo state and Nigerian politics, he has been around for decades; he is well experienced such that he has the quality to reclaim the Ibadan North HoR seat for APC with our collective support. 

Aderogba reiterated the fact that there is no perfect system; all the aspirants that came out to declared their intent to run for the vacant seat are all eminently qualified, 'we have invested our time, resources and energy into the contest but there is only one seat to be filled'. 

The intra party campaign in the last one year after the demise of the incumbent – Hon Olaide Akinremi (RIP) has shown that APC is blessed with quality members as demonstrated by the aspirants 

It’s election time now, ‘I will urge my fellow aspirants, party excos, apex leaders, and members of our party all levels to rally round and give required support to Hon Murphy to win the up coming bye election; lets all bury our hachets and work together to the glory of our dear party’ Aderogba submitted.

He said further that Leadership is continum and a big burden on shoulders, the upcoming bye election is a litmus test to our party in wrestling the Agodi house seat back from PDP in 2027, lets all look at the bigger picture. We are all witness to what disunity and anti party activities have done to us as party faithfuls in 2019 and 2023. 

An adage says: it’s a proverbial disgrace to stumble twice on the same stone. We have stumbled twice, but it's not too late to trace our steps and follow the right path, the path of unity. 

Let's embrace the spirit of sportmanship, close ranks, and work for the collective success of great party in unism because ‘a house that is divided against itself cannot stand’. Let's support Murphy, he concluded.
