The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State and House of Representatives candidate of the Allied People's Movement (APM) Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has warned against deploying religion and other sensitive identities as tools of political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections. Olatunji said Nigerians, irrespective of their religious, ethnic or political affiliations, must resist attempts by desperate politicians to exploit existing sentiments and create divisions for political and electoral gains. A major political tsunami has hit the Oluyole Local Government chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo state as a former Secretary of the council and chieftain of the party, Alhaji Adedokun Wasiu Adegboyega, alongside his political followers, defected to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). The detectors were received at the residence of the executive chairman of the council, Engr. Akeem Olatunji on Wednesday, August 2.
