Birthday: Senator Alli celebrates ex-Oyo APC chair, Abas at 77

The Oyo Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli, has felicitated with the immediate past chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Olayide Moshood Abas, on his 77th birthday. In a statement he personally issued on Sunday, Alli described Abas as a veteran progressive, dependable party leader and one of the pillars of the APC in Oyo State. He said that Abas had contributed significantly to the growth, stability and consolidation of the party through decades of political and public service. Alli said that the former chairman’s wealth of experience, wisdom, loyalty and understanding of party politics had made him an invaluable asset to the APC. The so-called sterling performance of Engr. Seyi Makinde has been over exaggerated and over blown. The administration of Adewolu Ladoja, Alao Akala and Ajimobi highlighted water availability in some areas of Ibadan as sacrosanct and of immense necessity .  Under Engr Seyi Makinde is an ugly situation of deteriorating and total neglect to water works Eleyele , Asejire dam which provided a profound solution to the water menace around Ibadan and its environs. GSM has prioritized a populist agenda over social amenities that would have benefited the masses.  The Governor should be reminded that only the rich can afford the exuberant cost of Bolehole. Investigative journalism reveals that some of the quality water equipment purchased by the regime of Ladoja was sold off by the GSM led government. Senator (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in Oyo State, has congratulated Ambassador Florence Ajimobi on her appointment as Nigeria’s Governor on the 35-member Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for the 2026–2028 term. Our attention has been drawn to the press statement by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, media aide to Governor Seyi Makinde, titled "Distinguished Engineer vs Jejune Lawyer." We will not descend into name-calling. We will respond with facts that Oyo people see every day. 1. ON STREETLIGHTS: WHO IS FAILING OYO? The media aide said we should blame APC Federal Government for blackout because generators are used for streetlights. This is laughable. Sir, you are the Governor of a State. You budgeted billions for streetlights. If you knew the national grid has challenges, why didn't your "distinguished engineering" provide a sustainable solution from day one instead of burning expensive diesel every night? You boast of a 5MW solar plant being upgraded to 12MW. For how many years has this story been told? In 2026, Oyo people still see generators powering streetlights with noise and fumes. With gratitude to Almighty Allah, I am deeply honoured to announce my elevation from Ekarun Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland to Ekerin Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland. I sincerely thank His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, and members of the Olubadan Advisory Council for the trust, honour and confidence reposed in me through this elevation. I receive this new responsibility with humility, gratitude and a renewed commitment to serve with loyalty, dignity and respect. I was unable to personally attend the elevation ceremony at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, as I am currently in the Holy Land performing Lesser Hajj (Umrah). OLUBADAN ELEVATES FOUR HIGH CHIEFS IN BALOGUN LINE

Yesterday, Friday 81th September, 2026 His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen) Adewolu Ladoja approved the promotion of four High Chiefs in the Balogun chieftaincy line. 1. Oba Abiodun Azeez Agagugu: Elevated from Ashipa Balogun to Osi Balogun of Ibadanland. 2. Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin: Elevated from Ekerin Balogun to Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland. 3. Oloye Agba (Sen) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli: Elevated from Ekarun Balogun to Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland. 4. Oloye Agba Samuel Adegboyega Adeniran: Elevated from Abese Balogun to Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, thereby becoming a member of the Olubadan-in-Council. Kabiyesi congratulated the newly promoted High Chiefs and charged them to continue to serve Ibadanland with dedication, loyalty and commitment to tradition. The promotion to the position of Abese Balogun downwards will be announced later.
