Yesterday, Friday 81th September, 2026 His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen) Adewolu Ladoja approved the promotion of four High Chiefs in the Balogun chieftaincy line. 1. Oba Abiodun Azeez Agagugu: Elevated from Ashipa Balogun to Osi Balogun of Ibadanland. 2. Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin: Elevated from Ekerin Balogun to Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland. 3. Oloye Agba (Sen) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli: Elevated from Ekarun Balogun to Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland. 4. Oloye Agba Samuel Adegboyega Adeniran: Elevated from Abese Balogun to Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, thereby becoming a member of the Olubadan-in-Council. Kabiyesi congratulated the newly promoted High Chiefs and charged them to continue to serve Ibadanland with dedication, loyalty and commitment to tradition. The alleged controversy surrounding the candidacy of the popular Broadcaster cum Politician, Oriyomi Hamzat as the 2027 governorship candidate of Accord in Oyo state has finally been laid to rest by the Party's secretary in the state, Hon. Olayinka Dairo who authoritatively confirmed during a Live radio programme in Ibadan on Friday that Oriyomi Hamzat is the Guber Candidate recognised by the national electoral body, INEC.
