NNPCL: MELE KYARI OUT, OJULARI IN AS PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU DISSOLVED NNPCL BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

The board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has been sacked.

President Bola Tinubu approved a sweeping reconstitution of the NNPC Limited board on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. This involved the removal of the chairman, Chief Pius Akinyelure, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, and all other board members appointed with them in November 2023.
The new 11-man board includes:
 * Ahmadu Musa Kida as the non-executive chairman.
 * Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari as the Group CEO.
 * Adedapo Segun as the Chief Financial Officer.
 * Bello Rabiu (North West) as a non-executive director.
 * Yusuf Usman (North East) as a non-executive director.
 * Babs Omotowa (North Central) as a non-executive director.
 * Austin Avuru (South-South) as a non-executive director.
 * David Ige (South West) as a non-executive director.
 * Henry Obih (South East) as a non-executive director.
 * Lydia Shehu Jafiya (Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance) as a representative of the ministry.
 * Aminu Said Ahmed (Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources) as a representative of the ministry.

These appointments are effective as of today, April 2, 2025. President Tinubu expects the new board to increase NNPC's crude oil refining output significantly by 2030.
