KOLAPO KOLA-DAISI SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN ACTIVITIES ACROSS OYO SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT OVER FUEL SCARCITY AND CURRENCY CRISIS.

Candidate Of Accord for the 2023 general elections in Oyo South Senatorial District has suspended his campaign activities across the mine local governments that made up the district.

In a statement he made available to the news men, he said;

"As a candidate running for office, it is my duty to represent the interests and well-being of the people. In light of the current situation and the immense suffering faced by the people, I have ordered a halt to all political campaigns and activities in my team as a gesture of solidarity until further notice.

It is also imperative that the current government takes swift and decisive actions to alleviate the suffering of our people. The effect of a hike in the price and shortage of fuel, coinciding with a nationwide cash crunch is too telling to ignore, and the people of this nation need real solutions, and they need them now.

The betterment of our nation and the well-being of its people should be our common goal now; the political landscape can wait. We owe it to the people to put their interests ahead of our own political agendas. I stand in solidarity with our people to demand swift solutions.

Regarding reports of riots in major city centres across Ibadan, I kindly urge my fellow constituents for calm. I understand the frustration and anger that has led to the current unrest. However, acts of violence and destruction only leads to more suffering and do not solve the issues. Let us make our demands without being destructive".
