2027; Oriyomi/ Accord Sec./ Confirmation

The alleged controversy surrounding the candidacy of the popular Broadcaster cum Politician, Oriyomi Hamzat as the 2027 governorship candidate of Accord in Oyo state has finally been laid to rest by the Party's secretary in the state, Hon. Olayinka Dairo who authoritatively confirmed during a Live radio programme in Ibadan on Friday that Oriyomi Hamzat is the Guber Candidate recognised by the national electoral body, INEC.

The party secretary, who has previously been associated with claims alongside other members of the state executive that Hamzat is not the party’s authentic governorship candidate, reportedly acknowledged during the live radio programme that Oriyomi Hamzat is currently the only Accord governorship candidate being recognised by INEC

The development shows a significant clarification to the ongoing controversy over the party’s 2027 governorship ticket in Oyo State.
During the Live radio programme which was widely monitored by newsmen, 
Hon. Dairo states that although there are internal effort by some elements within the party to replace the name earlier submitted to INEC, he further admits that the reality at present is that Oriyomi Hamzat remains the candidate recognised by the electoral commission

The admission, made during the live radio programme is contained in a video which  currently enjoys virality across media platforms

With this latest clarification, supporters of Oriyomi Hamzat and electorates in Oyo state have heaved a sign of relief that the major question is no longer about whether he is the candidate recognised by INEC or not

Meanwhile, political observers across Oyo State and beyond applaud the Party Chieftain, Hon Dairo for standing up for the truth, which they describe as the pillar of Democracy 

For the Oriyomi Hamzat campaign team,the radio interview represents an important clarification of what it describes as a deliberate attempt to create confusion around his status ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.

It however urge Accord members and  Supporters of Oriyomi Hamzat to remain united and stay focused on the task ahead
