Oyo 2027: Sheathing Our Swords for the Progress of Oyo APC Is Our Only Path to Victory By Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK).



I am addressing this statement as a direct, brotherly appeal to all my fellow gubernatorial aspirants who stood with me in the trenches under the banner of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). We have passed the stage of internal contests, and it is fundamentally not ideal for us to still be at loggerheads at this critical point in time. The primary election has come and gone, and our immediate, sacred duty now is to shift our focus toward rallying round to build the party, merge our formidable political structures, and build an atmosphere of genuine love and unity. This is a personal admonition and a heartfelt appeal from me to everyone to begin to rethink our path, look at the bigger picture, and define a unified way forward that guarantees the reclamation of the Agodi Government House. 

While we talk about unity, I find it necessary to directly confront and completely undress the malicious lies and baseless allegations being peddled by merchants of discord around my person, claiming that I collected the sum of ₦100 million to step down for our flag-bearer, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD. Nothing could be further from the truth. To put things in proper perspective, my cumulative expenses since my foray into politics have comfortably crossed the ₦1 billion mark; it is therefore a complete "no-brainer" that a mere ₦100 million would ever be the basis for my stepping down. My decision to withdraw from the race was born out of pure progressive principles, a profound respect for leadership direction, and a deep conviction that Senator Alli shares my exact passion and developmental vision for Oyo State. The overwhelming victory at the primaries has already proven that our alignment was the right and best decision for the survival of the party. 

I can speak authoritatively to the fact that Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD, is an exceptional bridge-builder, a leader of profound vision, and a statesman under whose leadership every single divergent interest within our party will be fiercely protected and valued. He does not run an exclusionary system, and he recognises that the strength of our general election campaign relies entirely on the collective energy of all aspirants and their vast followers. We are not losing our identities by coming together, rather, we are fortifying our common fortress. He has shown the humility to listen and the willingness to integrate our ideas, and ensure that the progressive manifesto we present to the electorate is a rich reflection of our collective dreams for the state.

Therefore, I appeal once again to all distinguished leaders, co-aspirants, and stakeholders: let us sheathe our swords, bury the grievances of the past, and deploy every ounce of our human and material resources to build an invincible party. The general election is the ultimate destination, and victory will only coast home if we stand shoulder-to-shoulder as one indivisible family. We owe it to the suffering masses of Oyo State who are looking up to the APC as the only viable alternative to the current administration. Let us march forward in unity, let us campaign with one voice, and let us collectively deliver a resounding landslide victory for Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD, and the All Progressives Congress. We can do this, and we will. God bless us all.

Residents of Owode Housing Estate, zone 4, Apata, Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, on Friday, staged a peaceful and advocacy protest against undeveloped land measuring over four thousand plot of virgin lands and many abandoned houses, calling on Governor Seyi Makinde to take urgent step in addressing the problems. According to the protesters, evil people are using the avenue to perpetrate crimes against humanity. ADAMU CIROMA: STUDIED HISTORY ; APPOINTED CBN GOVERNOR, LATER FINANCE MINISTER

Was it fate? Was it competence? Whatever it was, Adamu Ciroma, a Historian, was the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria from September 24, 1975 till June 28, 1977. Here's the story according TheCable: In 1975, the military government of Murtala Muhammed appointed Ciroma as the CBN governor. Kole Omotosho, in his book, Just Before Dawn, wrote that Ciroma, who was managing director of New Nigerian, was to be appointed the managing director of Daily Times, while Aliko Mohammed, an accountant, was to be made CBN governor.
