Tegbe's nomination as power minister well- deserved, says Senator Alli


Senator (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli (APC–Oyo South) has congratulated renowned technocrat, Joseph Tegbe, on his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the new Minister of Power.

This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ibadan..

Senator Alli described the development as a well-deserved recognition of competence and dedication to national service.

The lawmaker said that Tegbe’s nomination did not come as a surprise, given his impressive track record spanning over three decades of professional excellence.

"Chief Joseph Tegbe had consistently demonstrated capacity in leadership roles, including his previous appointments under the Tinubu administration.

"He has contributed significantly to policy development and economic reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s fiscal framework," he said. 
Alli expressed confidence that Tegbe would bring his wealth of experience and expertise to bear in repositioning the nation’s power sector. 

He stressed that stable electricity supply remained critical to Nigeria’s economic growth and industrial development.

The lawmaker commended President Tinubu for what he described as a thoughtful and strategic nomination.

Senator Alli said that the choice of Tegbe reflected the administration’s commitment to appointing competent hands to drive key sectors of the economy.

He urged the National Assembly to expedite the confirmation process, noting that Tegbe’s leadership would address longstanding challenges in the power sector and delivering improved service to Nigerians.
