THE MINISTER OF FINANCE, WALE EDUN INAUGURATES TEGBE AS CHAIRMAN NATIONAL TAX POLICY IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE
The Minister of finance, Dr. Wale Edun has inaugurated Chief Olasunkanmi Tegbe as the chairman of the National Tax Policy Implementation Committee.
A statement posted on verified Facebook page of Chief Tegbe confirmed the development.
"Yesterday, I had the privilege of being inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, as Chairman of the National Tax Policy Implementation Committee (NTPIC), a Committee established by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to drive Nigeria’s tax reform agenda".This journey is bigger than policy. It is about rebuilding trust. It is about ensuring that every reform we champion is understood, embraced, and ultimately owned by the people it is meant to serve. A tax system thrives only when citizens believe in it; when they see transparency, feel fairness, and trust that government will deploy public revenues responsibly and for the common good.
As we begin this important mandate, my commitment is clear: to work collaboratively across government, industry, and civil society to advance reforms that simplify compliance, reduce friction for businesses, broaden the tax base, and strengthen the foundations of our economy.
Nation-building has never been the task of a committee alone. It is the shared endeavour of citizens who believe that progress is possible and are willing to help shape it. With openness, accountability, and sustained engagement, I am confident that we can build a tax system that reflects our values, inspires confidence, and supports our national aspirations.
Nigeria’s future is bright, and with shared responsibility and collective resolve, we will get there together!
