JAMZ FM's OAP, AMB. AFOLABI OLAYEMI OLANIYI, BAGGED TRADITIONAL TITLE AS OTUN MAYEGUN IN IBADAN

Jamz fm's bilingual On-Airpersonality, Amb. Afolabi Olayemi Olaniyi, FEIPA, a multiple award winning Broadcast Journalist has been installed as the Otun Mayegun of Amosun Town on Saturday 20th December, 2025 along with other new chiefs in Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan in Oyo State, Nigeria by the Baale of Amosun Town, Chief Yunusa Adeoye Adewusi and the representatives of the Olubadan of Ibadan land Oba Dr. Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja on Saturday.

According to Chief Y. Adewusi the Baale of Amosun Town, a retired teacher, the new Otun Mayegun of Amosun is worthy of the chieftaincy title because of his persistent development advocacy on his numerous programs via Jamz fm News Paper Review program known as Iroyin Egbeyewo, Lawujo Wa, Okodoro and Periscope.

It will be recalled that in the year 2020, W Global Research Center honoured Amb. Afolabi with the best current affairs Radio Presenter of the year.
Consequently, in the year 2022, he won Orodoro Media Concept's Best Political Program of the year. In the same year, The Yoruba Council of Youth Worldwide, Oyo State Chapter, awarded the new Otun Majegun award of Integrity (omoluwabi Pataki) and still under year 2022 he was honored with Nelson Mandela leadership Award together as ECOWAS Youth Ambassador.

Reacting to the traditional title given to the broadcast Journalist, Hon. Adebayo Taofeek ADEROGBA, a prominent politician in Ibadan and an aspirant in the just concluded Ibadan North bye election, he said  "Congratulations!!! Hard work hardly goes unnoticed. It's a well deserved honour. Congratulations once again. More wins to come by the grace of God. What a way to end the year!!! You are our pride"

Others new chiefs that were installed are Otun Balogun of Amosun Town: Chief Kazeem Ojo Adewusi, Bobajiroro of Amosun; Chief Mrs. Funmilayo Olabode Balogun etc.

Residents of Owode Housing Estate, zone 4, Apata, Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, on Friday, staged a peaceful and advocacy protest against undeveloped land measuring over four thousand plot of virgin lands and many abandoned houses, calling on Governor Seyi Makinde to take urgent step in addressing the problems. According to the protesters, evil people are using the avenue to perpetrate crimes against humanity. Addressing hundreds of protesters, President of Apata Youths Organization, Comrade Olaoluwa Paul Oyeniran called on the government of Oyo State to help the people of Owode Housing Estate zone 4 , Apata, reiterating that abandoning properties for over forty years constitute societal danger.
