BREAKING NEWS; FG TAKES OVER TAI SOLARIN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION FROM OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT


The Ogun State Government, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, warmly welcomes the Federal Government’s official adoption of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) as a Federal University.

This transition is a testament to our administration’s unwavering commitment to advancing education and ensuring the continued growth of Nigeria’s first specialized university of education. Governor Abiodun’s administration has worked diligently to secure this transition, recognizing the strategic importance of TASUED in producing highly skilled educators for the nation.

We deeply appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for granting this approval and for his unwavering commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s education sector. His visionary leadership in prioritizing teacher education and institutional development will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the nation’s educational landscape.

This decision not only safeguards the legacy of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Dr. Tai Solarin—two iconic figures in Nigerian education—but also acknowledges the critical intervention of the Awujale of Ijebuland in preserving TASUED in 2012.

By joining Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education and Adeyemi Federal University of Education, TASUED’s new status reinforces its position as a premier institution for teacher education and professional development.

As a government that prioritizes quality education, we remain committed to fostering policies and initiatives that will complement TASUED’s new status, ensuring it continues to thrive as a center of excellence in education.

Residents of communities in Ayegun-Oleyo as well as commuters in the Oluyole local government area can now finally heave sigh of relief as the lawmaker representing Oyo central senatorial district, Dr. Yunus Akintunde has finally facilitated the construction of the road. Tapping into solid network he has built over the years, Akintunde, before his election, had, together with his friends, decided to reconstruct a kilometer of the bad portion of the road. Bayo Bashir Ojulari, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), is a seasoned Nigerian engineer with expertise in petroleum, process, and production engineering.   Before his new appointment, He was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Renaissance Africa Energy Company. His Renaissance recently led a consortium of indigenous energy firms in the landmark acquisition of the entire equity holding in the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC), worth $2.4 billion.   He began his career as the first Nigerian process engineer at Elf Aquitaine before joining Shell Petroleum Development Company in 1991.
