GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE HAS ADDRESSED SPECULATIONS ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH KEY SUSPECTS IN THE IBADAN CHILDREN’S FUNFAIR TRAGEDY, WHICH CLAIMED THE LIVES OF OVER 35 CHILDREN. SPEAKING DURING A COURTESY VISIT BY THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY OF OYO STATE, LED BY ALHAJI KUNLE SANNI, GOVERNOR MAKINDE ACKNOWLEDGED PUBLIC REACTIONS, EMPHASISING THAT THOSE CRITICISING HIM MAY NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND HIS PRINCIPLES AND COMMITMENT TO JUSTICE. 
 RESPONDING TO THE VISITORS’ PLEA TO TEMPER JUSTICE WITH MERCY FOR THE SUSPECT INVOLVED, THE GOVERNOR STRESSED THE NEED TO ALSO HONOUR THE MEMORY OF THE 35 INNOCENT CHILDREN WHO LOST THEIR LIVES.MAKINDE EXPRESSED EMPATHY, STATING THAT IF ONE OF HIS CHILDREN HAD BEEN AMONG THE VICTIMS, HIS STANCE MIGHT HAVE BEEN EVEN MORE RESOLUTE.

Residents of communities in Ayegun-Oleyo as well as commuters in the Oluyole local government area can now finally heave sigh of relief as the lawmaker representing Oyo central senatorial district, Dr. Yunus Akintunde has finally facilitated the construction of the road. Tapping into solid network he has built over the years, Akintunde, before his election, had, together with his friends, decided to reconstruct a kilometer of the bad portion of the road. The Oyo-born politician who believes that  commuters within Ayegun, Oleyo, Odo Ona Elewe and others areas must experience new lease of life, had, for close to a year since he was inaugurated, lobbied to get the federal government construct the whole stretch of the road.
