NATIONAL JUDICIAL COUNCIL SUSPEND JUDGES IN RIVER, IMO, OVER UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCTS

National Judicial Council suspends Justice G. C. Aguma of High Court of Rivers State from performing judicial functions for a period of one year without pay and also placed him on “Watch-List” for two years.

The Judicial Council also recommended compulsory retirement of the chief judge of Imo State, Justice Chukwuemeka Chikeka and Grand Kadi of Yobe State, Kadi Babagana Mahdi, over falsification of their ages.

The council cleared Justice Peter Lifu of any wrongdoing, says  he neither exhibited personal interest in the River state matter nor misconducted himself in the proceedings.

Allegations of bribery against Justice Lifu not substantiated
