OLUBADAN; OBA LEKAN BALOGUN'S DEATH IS A MONUMENTAL LOSS.... PRESIDENT, IBADAN YOUTH INDIGENES ENI IYI OJEKUNLE



Eni Iyi Ojekunle Wasiu Olanrewaju, President of Ibadan Youth Indigenes (IYI) has condoled with the family of the late Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the Olubadan-in-Council, sons and daughters of Ibadanland over the demise of Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the 42nd Olubadan who joined his ancestors yesterday at the age of 81.

The president of IYI who hails from Ile Alawo, Isale bode in Ibadan while commiserating with the government and people of Oyo State lauded the achievement the late Olubadan was able to achieve within his reign. 

'Oba Lekan Balogun's two years is like twenty years. The developments he has brought to Ibadanland was unprecedented and can never be forgotten soon.' Eni Iyi Ojekunle noted. 

While speaking with newsmen earlier today, Eni Iyi Ojekunle described the late Oba Lekan Balogun as a father for all who was also a visionary and compassionate leader. 

'The demise of Oba Lekan Balogun is a monumental loss to Ibadan land, Oyo state and Nigeria at large.' Eni Iyi Ojekunle added.

While urging people to take solace in God, Eniyi Ojekunle urged the people of Ibadanland to imbibe good virtues like generosity, peace, tolerance etc. that the late Oba Lekan Balogun was known for. 

He prayed that God give all Ibadan sons and daughters the fortitude to hear the irreparable loss. Amen
