DEFECTION: IBADAN NORTHWEST UNITED PROGRESSIVES FRONT DECAMPS TO APC

The Ibadan Northwest United Progressives Front, a grassroot political group that populated the structure of Accord in Ibadan Northwest Local Government of Oyo State had on Tuesday during their general meeting announced their alignment with the decision of the Oyo State Accord Governorship Candidate in the last general election, Chief Abdulwaheed Adebayo Adelabu, OFR, the Honourable Minister of Power, on his move to return to the APC.

According to the leadership of the group, Adelabu had displayed exemplary leadership qualities worthy of emulating over the years, and they are convinced that his leadership direction is worthy of being followed.

Recall that this group constituted the bulk of party faithfuls that left the APC amidst the crisis that rocked the party after its 2022 primaries in Oyo state.

According to one of the erstwhile Accord Chairman in Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Jalaruru, they were not only joining the Honorable Minister to return to APC, but also collapsing all the structures of Accord in the local government into the APC. According to him, "decamping to APC is like an homecoming, as they are very much familiar with the terrain and would do everything within their capacity to join the APC leaders in Ibadan Northwest Local Government in particular and the state, at large in strengthening and repositioning the party for success and victory in all future elections".
In the same vein, the overall leader of Progressives United Front in Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Hon Suleiman Abiola Alade commended the party loyalists for aligning their decisions with the move made by the Honourable Minister, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, OFR, Chief Kolapo Kola-Daisi, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku and Hon Adams Adebayo Yusuff, that contested for Oyo State Governorship, Oyo South Senatorial District, Ibadan North West-South West Federal Constituency and Oyo State House of Assembly respectively in the last general elections. He urged all "to strive for the unity and progress of the APC as they were going back into the progressive fold".
Other leaders that gave their goodwill messages included; Hon Akeem Ariyalo, Hon Kamilu Fantola, Hon Muhammed Olalekan, Hon Taofeek Razaq, Hon Waheed Alade, Hon Musbaudeen Oladiti, Hon Kabir Kehinde, Hon Saheed Gbadamosi, Hon Olayinka Bankole, Messrs Kamilu Adeleye and Oladimeji Adepegba.
