Binta Ayo Mogaji was born on the 9th of March, 1964 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Her father was an Islamic cleric while her mother was an education administrator. Mogaji explained that the reason behind her not acting semi-nude or kissing in a movie was because of her Islamic background.

She began her acting career at an early age of 16. Her first role was in the NTA TV play 'Why Worry'. According toiRokoTV.com, she was invited by her elder brother who was an actor on NTA TV and a senior lecturer at The Polytechnic Ibadan.

Binta Ayo Mogaji is happily married to Dr. Victor Ayodele Oduleye, a British Psychotherapist and their marriage is blessed with three children. She is currently residing in the United Kingdom with her family.
