AD, AC, ACN, APC LAWMAKER AND 9TH SPEAKER, HON. FEMI GBAJABIAMILA RESIGNS FROM PARLIAMENT.

Right Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and 9th Speaker of House of Representatives who was elected into the house of representatives in February 2023 for six term has resigned from the parliament.

It should be noted that in 2003, the former speaker was elected on the platform of Alliance For Democracy, AD into the house, in 2007 he was reelected on the platform of Action Congress AC, in 2011 Gbajabiamila went into the house on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria ACN and in 2015, APC was the political party that conveyed him to the green Chamber.

In 2019, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila contested again and won on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC and lastly for the six term in 2023 general elections, he got reelected into the lower Chamber.

While at the parliament, he served in different capacities such as deputy minority leader, minority leader, majority leader and Speaker of the 9th assembly.

He has been appointed as Chief of Staff to  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu hence his resignation.
Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila wrote;

"To the glory of God, I resigned my membership of the newly Inaugurated 10th House of Representatives today. I had the privilege to move the first motion in the new House which was on the need to prepare to avert the negative effects of the forecast of heavy flooding in some parts of the country. The House passed the resolutions accordingly. Thereafter, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read my resignation letter and declared my seat vacant. An opportunity for the people of Surulere 1 Federal Constituency to elect my replacement.

I have assumed my new office as the Chief of Staff to the President in readiness to work with Mr. President in delivering his Renewed Hope agenda for Nigeria".
