Unemployment; Government Must Act Fast.... Afolabi

Unemployment is the state of able body willing to be encaged into productive work that can earn him or her wages or salary as the case may be for good living but largely unable to find gainful employment.

Government at all levels can create beneficial schemes like Npower scheme across the country and religiously monitor it implementation.

Creating enabling environment for local and foreign investments will help a lot in reducing the army of unemployed youths in our society.

Talking about unemployment, you find what economists called under-employment and what employer refered to as unemployable.

Under-employment means a person is working under a condition that is below is status and his renumeration doesn't march his academy qualifications and credentials.
On this, without adequate self development drive on the part of under-employment persons to acquire necessary skills that can improve their skills for higher job opportunities, one may continue to languish in that cage or condition because of the law of supply and demand.
Government can boast dying manufacturing companies as well.

Unemployable is the condition of a person willing to work but doesn't have the quality employers are looking for.
Government can create  vocational training centers across 774 Local Government Areas to address the lacking skills and individuals can also add more skills to themselves.

These set of people can work on themselves and undergo series of training to be employable.
Self reliance is for those people that are naturally enterprising and are ready to risk passion with talent for them to be self-employed.

Government should compel financial institutions to loan small Scale Business owners money with no trigent conditions.

In the mix of all these, what can the leadership of a country do to help the army of unemployed youths?

Are the self-employed people happy about cost of production and ease of accessing loan? Soft loan and security of life and prosperity will address their challenges.

As we march towards 2023,  what kind of leadership do you want Nigeria to birth?
There is no counry that can rise above the quality of its learder, same way no organization can rise above the quality of its management. Therefore, Nigeria needs a vibrant leadership that can accelerate developmental projects across the country.
