Governor Seyi Makinde on Friday approved the appointment of Col. The only female HoR member from Oyo State, in the 10th Assembly,  Hon.Tolulope Akande-Sadipe has began an empowerment programme for Oluyole constituents on Sunday. In a press statement released by the media aide to Hon. Sadipe, Mr. Olalekan Olusada says; 10th Assembly: Lawmaker Empowers Constituents, Facilitates Medical Equipment to PHCs Member, House of Representatives, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, on Sunday, distributed cash grants aimed at economically empowering about 40 members of her constituency. President Tinubu has appointed Kayode Egbetokun as new acting Inspector-General of Police  Egbetokun was born on Sept. 4, 1964 in Erinja, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Egbetokun enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. In 1999, he was appointed Chief Security Officer to Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu. He served as the Commander, Rapid Response Squad, Lagos, Squadron Commander, Mopol 5, Benin, Benin City, Officer-in-Charge, Anti-Fraud Unit, FCT Command, Abuja; Chief Superintendent of Police, Administration, Lagos State Command Head Quarters, Ikeja; Area Commander, Osogbo, Osun State Command; and Area Commander, Gusau, Zamfara State Command, among others. Right Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and 9th Speaker of House of Representatives who was elected into the house of representatives in February 2023 for six term has resigned from the parliament. It should be noted that in 2003, the former speaker was elected on the platform of Alliance For Democracy, AD into the house, in 2007 he was reelected on the platform of Action Congress AC, in 2011 Gbajabiamila went into the house on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria ACN and in 2015, APC was the political party that conveyed him to the green Chamber.  PRESIDENT TINUBU SUSPENDS GODWIN EMEFIELE AS CBN GOVERNOR ✍️ President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, CFR, from office with immediate effect. This is sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy. Mr Emefiele has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of investigation and the reforms. The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria in charge of operations directorate, Mr. Folashodu Adebisi Sonubi is now the CBN Governor in acting capacity.

FUEL SUBSIDY: MAKINDE ANNOUNCES PALLIATIVES FOR OYO STATE RESIDENTS .

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Friday, announced palliatives to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the citizens as he flagged off the dualisation of the 8.3km Akobo-Ojurin-Odogbo Barracks-Olorunda-Abaa junction Road. The Governor, in his speech at the flag off, said: "We know that things are getting harder because the subsidy on PMS has been removed and this has made transportation cost increase further. Well, I have already set up a committee to look into what we can do about increasing civil servants’ salaries but I know that everyone in Oyo State is not a civil servant. So, we have decided to deploy more Omituntun buses to ease the transportation worries. I have also directed that there should be no increase in the fare paid on these buses. “Also, school children and our senior citizens will board these buses at half-price.
