Bayo Bashir Ojulari, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), is a seasoned Nigerian engineer with expertise in petroleum, process, and production engineering.   Before his new appointment, He was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Renaissance Africa Energy Company. His Renaissance recently led a consortium of indigenous energy firms in the landmark acquisition of the entire equity holding in the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC), worth $2.4 billion.   He began his career as the first Nigerian process engineer at Elf Aquitaine before joining Shell Petroleum Development Company in 1991. The board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has been sacked. President Bola Tinubu approved a sweeping reconstitution of the NNPC Limited board on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. This involved the removal of the chairman, Chief Pius Akinyelure, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, and all other board members appointed with them in November 2023. Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of Abisola Kola-Daisi, the eldest daughter of late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who died at the age of 44 in the UK. A leading governorship aspirant from the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo  State, Dr. Gbenga Adegbola, has expressed sadness over the demise of the daughter of the former governor of Oyo State, Abisola Ajimobi who died in the early hour of Thursday, 27th of March in London. The late Abisola who was married to Kola Daisi was the oldest daughter of former governor Abiola Ajimobi who governed Oyo State for eight years between 2011-2019.
